SUPPORT

“Support” is an assistance program for manufacturing workers. In terms of design, the building's shape intends to reflect the complex and dangerous work of the workers. So the whole building is sort of sharp and suspended. The past pipe workers' story is interpreted to attract more contemporary workers to gather to help and support each other. The past story encourages workers and neighbors around the park to come and talk and become a warm community. It's an interaction between history, the present, the environment, and current activities.

* Using physical models to interpret workers' hard work, noisy working environments, the danger of work, and crowd crowding.

“As soon as we finish, we relax. [It was] the best time I had here because we enjoyed ourselves. It was like a big family. We know each other, everybody. We try to help each other, finish, and have a few drinks when we finish work.”
